This unique cutting board is created with 99 individual cubes of walnut and cherry, with the end grain exposed on both sides, making it fully reversible. It is then finished with mineral oil, creating a deep and attractive surface for your kitchen cutting needs.

Harlequin Cutting Board

This is my favorite cutting board. It is made of individual cubes of cherry and walnut. The cubes are assembled with the end grain exposed, providing an attractive and durable surface. The unique harlequin pattern makes it a decorative kitchen piece as well as a functional cooking tool.

Now that the garden has been put to bed and the Vermont weather is turning, I plan to concentrate on my handmade wood wine racks in anticipation of holiday celebrations. They make perfect Christmas presents. Placed on a side table, they hold six bottles of wine. One resembles the rack of a bull moose, another was inspired by the chain ring of a bicycle. And, to hold your table wine, use my wooden wine slipper. Please peruse my web site and review my work. Perhaps you have your own custom design for that special person. Cord Wood Spiral Sculpture

Latest Woodwork Design

As you can see I have my wood for the winter. This cordwood spiral was built for Sculpturefest 2008 in Woodstock, Vermont.
This piece was inspired by the spiral, a universal round shape. As we see cordwood it is always in a straight line. I wanted to make an interesting shape and chose the round spiral. It is the cordwood that incorporates this shape into every day life.
The whole piece took 5 weeks to build. I began with the 12ft vertical in the center. How it stays up right, is a secret and will reveal itself upon a closer look.
Each piece is tapered with a chainsaw to produce a tight circle and each piece slightly slopes downward.
To my surprise it was as much appreciated by people walking inside as outside.
I will dismantle the spiral in July and use the same wood to build a new design for Sculpturefest 2009.
